ReMall Pop-Up was organized in Mall of Tripla culture square on 27.10.2021.

I was commissioned to design and produce an installation for a pop-up event in Mall of Tripla.
ReMall Pop-Up was part of PasilaHUB -project, where circular economy solutions and services were brought closer to consumers.
The event served as a showcase for the future of sustainable consumption. Presentations were held by Marja Rissanen, a researcher at Aalto University, Sini Suomalainen, leader of the Kuituus project, Outi Pyy, a Finnish influencer specializing in responsibility and textile recycling, and Aino-Marja Öster, a sustainability expert at Lindex.
The PasilaHUB project is funded by the City of Helsinki Innovation Fund and coordinated by Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences.
Process
Production time was quite limited so I sketched and presented my visions quickly in 3D. I used spare and waste wood from the university workshop for construction. All parts were design so that they could be disassembled after the event and returned back to the leftover material storage to minimize cost and waste. Simple structure and preassembly of sections of the piece helped us to reduce time spent on setup and tear down at the venue.
Two racks full of unsold clothes were donated for the event by a local recycling center. The appearance of the pile changed throughout the day as people were allowed to pick up items for free. This made it very attractive center piece for the event and it gathered a lot of audience.
